pb bream.
Went for a fish today, after another night of rain decided to head to Slade point for a look, never fished there before.
I decided to put a popper on and have a go with that, a few cast into it and i noticed something following my lure, after a few goes at it he smashed it. Then I just had to bring him in. It was a nice bream 34cm to the fork, and the first bream i have ever caught on a lure.

Very nice mate, very nice indeed...im jelous! ive always wanted to get a bream on a popper! who'd a thunk it, the rocks at sladey producing stud bream, we used to fish and dive there a lot, lots of blueys feed there, even caught a baby cray there once, also saw a pair of metre plus barra laying in a gap in the weeds one day, way to big to shoot.
congrats on the PB mate, wat tide were u fishing?

Good on ya mate, nice bream!
Cheers Jeff.

nice bream i wish i could get one that big

Hey thanks guys, Try hard I was fishing the incoming tide.

ok thanks for that mate, when ur fishing the run in, keep an eye out for stirred up patches of water, these are the parrotfish munching on the coral, also have a look where the water meets the rock for big blueys cruizing, waiting to get up on the flats to feed, i sight fished my PB doing that exact technique...6kg of bluey screaming off in 2 foot of water is an incredible sight!!
sorry about the thread hijack mate
also if u put say a 16lb leader onto ur bream gear and put a 3 inch minnow on, flick it around the broken coral and rock and ur sure to get a few of the smaller reef species, cod, sweetlip, trevally, blueys and trout are all awsome fun in tight country on light tackle.
hope this helps mate, keep at it!
