Hi all,
Heading up to Agnes Waters today for the week, staying at the caravan park and looking for any local fishing advice or tips. I mainly lure fish but bait is OK.
I will be predominatly land based but will hire a small boat at 1770 for a day or two.
I have a selection of rods and gear so will be trying of the rocks and beach at Agnes and arond the creek at 1770.
will post a report on my return.
Mate there should be plenty of flathead around the rocks in 1770 creek and also a few squid. Might still be a few tailor and Trevally around the rocks as well
Eurimbula Creek mouth is usually a good fishing landbased venue. It is the next creek north from 1770 and gets minimal pressure compared to Round Hill Creek at 1770. This time of the year around dawn the trevally go nuts for anything on or near the surface.
Access via Eurimbula National Park about 6km before Agnes Water.

Sharks have been hammering the fish off the rocks, 1 in 10 were getting landed. Hire a yak and head over to the sandbar and work the gutters for whiting and the odd flathead.
If you have the coin there is a local charter boat up there that seems to do ok.
We just got back from up there yesterday. got a few nice fish, Steve (Apollo) caught a nice 8kg red emperor.
