Some peace and quiet.... and some fish
Our peaceful morning was shattered when our 3 young teenage grandaughters came squeeling and giggling thru the gate, followed by their withered frayed young father. Teenage daughters can do that to you.
So I did what any good grandad would do. I gently led their father to the car, hitched up the boat, and took him poste-haste to the serenity of the pine river, leaving good old grandma to cope with the insanity by herself.
Got to our first spot chasing flathead about 9.45. Nadda.
Tried our second spot. A few tiddlers.
Third time lucky. I got my bag and my boy got 2. All from the same spot. We got a couple of just legal fish that he wouldn't have a bar of releasing to grow some more coz he seldom gets to go fishing and struggles to catch anything when he does.
Left around 2pm and gave him another 2 fish to make his trip worthwhile. Had a great day.
Just found out the girls are staying for 3 days to be joined by our young grandson tomorrow.
The son and I have already arranged to go out early again tomorrow.
Just gotta find a deckie for day 3. Lol.
(Still struggling to upload photo from phone gallery)
Cheers
