where abouts? i know they are in droves near the boardwalk (can tell when they are on just look for the crowd)
Saph, you'll need a boat.
Come winter time they are easy to find all through the passage, even got one on an SP last year flicking for flatties. February though is a different issue, they can be found but few and far between. Could be a change of food, have had them on when using yabbies in the off season.
Thanks Ron. Be an interesting exercise to target them. Have you chased squid in the Passage?
I see plenty of them when I wade the mangroves....mid summer as well.
I always thought they left the estuaries in summer.
Military Jetty at Golden Beach is a spot that is overlooked and there are big schools under there.
Ron, at night if you slowly motor in the passage almost anywhere from Tripcony to Decrepit Bay with a spotlight and a landing net and you will get quite a few in short time.
A few seasons ago I got about a dozen good tigers like this.
The lecky makes it all too easy.
A few Bribie locals use hand spears with good success between the coast guard and the Bongo jetty.
They would be there now in good numbers and the water doesn't need to be overly clear.
Water does not need to be clean for luderick.....they just find it harder to find your weed bait in dirty water.
They will still be there now in the runoff.
