78cm sunny coast jack

Matt, we get em up here too. There was a 70cm caught in Eli Waters (landlocked lake) 2 years ago, pic was in the local paper. Its linked to the creek by a drain.

Wasn't so long ago I saw a qld grouper swim past about 2.5m away in there. It would have gone somewhere over the meter mark, maybe up to a meter half... Problem is the locals not only cast net the bait in there (from their back yards) they're known to keep what they catch. Quick way to ruin a LL spot.

You only have to look at the bloke's finger's, without a tape measure i would guess 75mm by the number of time's across the fish 10 or 11 roughly, It's well into the high seventie's.......Great fish well done...

Not too many LL spots on the sunny coast mate. Wouldn't be hard to work it out with a little google maps.. She's a tough spot though, you can go many fishless days and nights there.

I am looking at the jaw and the fingers. no doubt at all its a bIg fish no photoshoppingg or arms stretching is needed.


Like any big fish you hav e the believers and the non believers. there was a 72cm from maroochy last year in the 7-8kg mark. I wonder what this fish would weigh.

Hard for those who don't know mitch to accept it as legit... He's a super keen fisho and I have no doubt that if he claims it's that big, I believe it's that big.
