    Default Another great sesh!

Hey guys had another great sesh today. I landed a 63cm blue salomon on the 3 inch atomic prong, 6lb braid and 10lb leader. I admit i was pretty lucky the leader didnt wear through on this fella as it was pretty badly chaffed, I easily broke it with my hand after the capture. If the drag was a little tighter I would dare say it would have put more strain and pressure on the weak point and would have worn through. These things never say die. Just when i thought i had him beached he would take off again and again.

Landed a nice grunter which would have been low to mid 40's I suppose. Got this guy on the 4 inch prong on my heavier gear - 10lb braid and 14lb leader.

My mate Dan hooked 3 other salmon as well

That is incredible Luke, well done. Looks like you are pretty happy with the session had.

We were fishing land based chasing blue salmon in the NT using 60lb leader and stuggled to get them to shore without the leader wearing through.

Yeh we were pretty lucky Dave. Had a cracker sesh last week hooking 5 barra and then a nice salmon this week all on the 10lb leader and 6lb braid. Hooked all the barra last week in the corner of the mouth so were very lucky that it wasnt down the hatch rubbing on the raspy jaw. Got lucky today too. The salmon had it a few inches down his gob but the sandy beach devoid of structure ensured I could take my time and leave the drag loose. If i had the drag done up much more i would have lost him for sure as the leader was badly scuffed after that one.

Dave,we were having the same problem,my bro still is,but we are losing next to no fish now on 12 and 15 leader, but using light, really forgiving rods. Andys new Acm Samurai is awesome, and the S1 as well. We are fishing pretty light drag as well.

Great session Luke, gotta love getting your feet wet..
