21-07-12 Pine River dawn assault

Got onto the water at 5am and headed downstream a few km before dropping the lecky over the bow and working over some interesting water.
Took about 40 minutes before I got my only bite for the morning and landed a nice bit of dinner.
Worked over another 2km of river for the next 4 hours before I pulled the pin and came home.
Was still a nice morning to be out.

Lure was a new penny coloured 4" Z-man curly tail on a 3/0 Matzuo sickle jighead about 1/4oz.
Was running 8lb braid and 14lb Nitlon DFC leader.
I called it for a decent lizzard first up with the gill rattles and not much fight. Then he powered away a bit before i remembered to turn the Gopro camera on DUH!!!

Ended up a pretty pethargic little jewie that was no problems at all to land.
