welcome to AA mate no the rod still needs to be coated I was using a 1970's jarvis walker solid glass rod and the 8 kg rod I retipped at the rod building. It is a wonder i got any fish at all however I have since gone and brought a couple of new cheap rods for my ting fishing

nice feed shane ,i love the taste of them but cant be bothered cleaning all the little buggers lol they are having a great season up here on them too
