    Default Back to Basics Breamin'

    G'day,

I shot out early this morning with my 4YO daughter to give the boat a quick run and to chase a bream or two while it was still nice and cool in the morning.

We had a quick troll for a barra to start off but the first fish to hit the 160mm Barra Classic was actually a pikey bream. I think thats the first bream I've ever caught using lures to be honest!

Anyway, not too much was happening there at that spot, so we got back to our original plan. I anchored the boat in the shade and rigged up my daughter's tiny Ugly Stik for a bit of breamin'. I kept it all pretty simple, just using a bit of squid or pilchard on a lightly weighted hook.

The bream were there in numbers and they were more than happy to instantly hit any pilchard and squid as it entered the water. The kids love it when the fish are on like this. We both managed to land a few bream and estuary cod. We released them all to catch again next time.

    Cheers,
    Roo.

I'm loving the zoo animals in the background for when the bite is a bit slow...

That last pic is a cracker. Just a casual cast for a cod in between playing zoo.

Brilliant effort Roo and Rooette. Some quality time spent right there.
