    Default Another Burrum Report

A quick report on what was a great week end, and a massive thanks to Paul and Jode for pulling it together, and the "goodies bags" as well, thanks guys!
Headed up Friday morning and met up with Pete and Mick at the ramp, had to have a soft plastics flick while we were waiting for Chewy after seeing the Lizard lies on the sand bank, but no joy.
Chewy arrived, and we headed up the river, stopping here and there while Chewy pointed out different spots, and things to avoid - mainly nasty rock bars!
I kissed a couple of sand bars over the week end, but no rocks thanks to Chewy's good oil, its a damn nice system for sure, and species diversity means its a bit of a lotto as to what you'll get.
I jagged a Barra first cast of the trip, then a nice one 3 casts later, and could have stopped right there a happy man. The Bazzas seemed to be my go to fish over the week end for some reason, hit a spot right on the turn of tide Saturday for 6 in quick succession, and then Andy put us on an awesome little spot Sunday morn that was producing Barra and Bass off the same structure, it was a great bite, but damn it was cold!
I never got a jack, but that's OK, next time, I have a cunning plan Baldric, but there was a thumper Lizard in there off a lay down on a Richos, and my first ever fish on a Thready Buster lol...
Besides, Shane boated a massive Red Fish that broke that Jack drought in the Hornet, so all good.
Saturday arvo I watched Chewy snap a couple of barras out of what is one of the fishiest spots I've seen in a long time, and jigging down at Buxton with the boys was fun, just a little good natured sledging from me to keep them on their toes!
Pub was great, my bed was soft, company excellent, awesome week end.

Heres a few random pics of various fishy activities:

Pete and Mick working on a Barra boat side

Flathead Crocadillus - came off a lay down on a Richos

    Shanes new PB Jack

My first fish on a thready buster - huuuuuuge

    Barra

    Barra

Shane with one of his Cod

    Cod and Barra double

This must have been a good spot, the boys were here for hours?

    Chewy with a nice Barra

    Pete and Paulo with tarpon

Super Guide Andy with Barra - thanks for yesterday morning mate, that was an awesome session!

Barra and Bass were coming off the same lay down - insane stuff

Good to meet you Brian at long last.It was a great weekend for all the right reasons. The last thing us guys from up here wanted was for none of you guys visiting to not get on any fish.Burrum is a fishing paradise but Jeez it can be frustrating. Thanks for grabbing the piccy for us,I can prove to the Mrs I really was on a fishing trip lol.Have to try and not make it so long between drinks. How'd you sleep Sunday night? One eye open? That Roo is trouble.

You shiver when he scratched the wall?

If he only knew just how much trouble he could have been in

That is if the early AM Beast arose and beat the living crap out of him

There weren't any lights flickering in the room were there?

    Just asking?
