    Default PB Fingermark

Have been picking up sub 30cm Fingermark for the last month. Beautiful fish, and I like them alot.... but the bar has been raised!

A PB for me and, just quietly, a nod to all those of us who are either boat-less or still using entry level gear!

Live estuary prawn on a paternoster rig did the deed.

I reckon he'd have suited the pan- but I was so stoked that I was happy to charge off a few pics and send him back.

Had to be quick because he was starting to fade a bit. (Up here, there are a few good reasons not to be ankle deep in mud refreshing a fish at the water's edge!)

But pleased to say he swum off fine.

Sorry to be on the other side of the fence, but it's been February since I've eaten fingermark. Waiting for the wind to drop for a night trip to the headlands. I'd probably release one from the creeks too, I'm always dubious about the water quality, particularly around the old dump. By the way it's a good fish and I haven't personally caught one that much bigger. They must go hard out of the shallow water.

Haha.. no need to appologise mate, have to admit I gave thought to those fillets myself. There's a pretty good tidal flush where this one came from, but your right. Some of our producing creeks can look pretty dubious.

He went well. Wouldn't say it was a jump, but he had a few splashy surface runs. I trust my braid, leader was heavy, and my knots are usually ok... but you just never know about that hook!!

Good fun- now his red cousin in the same size would be very nice thank you...
