    Default pros at it again

    just heard pros have been in german area again netting 1500kg out of it this week mostly threadies, barra and grunter ,the sooner the pollies see these theives are killing the area and buy them out the better .they are doing the same to the burrum again too .

    What a joke, and they have the cheek to blame the rec guys. Would take a lot of rec fishers to take that much. And in a marine park too. Some 3rd world countries have better fisheries management than we do here in 'the smart state'

    Definitely something you wouldn't want to do up here Ben. Most of the pros up here carry pretty heavy. I don't agree with it, but they aren't doing anything illegal. It's the politicians that should be bombarded to try and stop this.

    The editor of the Chronicle is a freind of mine and a keen fisherman. Somebody get me some evidence, and I'll get the story to him.

    I had a chat with MP Paul Neville about pros netting and he was very knowledgeable on it. He had attended previous discussions with dpi scientists some years ago. Skewed research ended up with biased decisions. The key to getting the laws changed is getting some favourable research for the cause from credible sources.

    This reserach is not that hard to get, if you can afford to commission it. There are plenty of scientists favourable to this cause, it just takes a committed, organised group of rec fishos.The media, the pollies, the greenies and the public will get on side when you get them the evidence.
