Got some stats back today but not in full.

Fish was tagged on the 21st of November 2010 in the exact spot I recaught him. There was no release lengths supplied to me.

Just flicking back through a few recapture certificates.

I have recapture details for fish that I have either originally tagged or recaptured previously tagged fish :

    5 Black Marlin
    3 Sailfish
    2 Mangrove Jack
    2 Sand Whiting
    5 Yellowfin Bream
    1 Dusky Flathead

Its always a buzz to see that what we do allows the fish to do their thing!

I finally re-caught a barra that I had tagged only earlier this year. I have been trying to do that for a few years now.

How far did the sailfish and marlin travel between captures? Were any of them ones that you had tagged before? That would be pretty special!

    Cheers,
    Roo.

Roo, yeah 5 billfish I have tagged have been recaught. One I recaught myself 3 weeks after I tagged it 10 miles apart.

The furthest traveling billfish I have had so far was a Black Marlin i tagged at Mooloolaba and was recaught by a local profesional Fisherman in the Solomon Islands. It travelled 2124Nm in 1371 days.

Thanks Jeffo - Looks like the Jacks may stay faithful to one particular snag or spot before they migrate out to the reefs?
