Default I think I am getting closer!!!

3am paddling up Bells so I could fish some snags at dawn and get my first Jack.

Mainly tried 5 inch Gulp crazy legs rigged weedless.

6 hours of fishing for 1 bite and the obligatory flathead

Gotta be a jack bite eh? Missed the hook by millimeters

Going out tonight on old mates tinny for a try at them again!!

... Maybe they spelt your name wrong on that fish Funchy

As Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by that much"

Unlucy on the miss, but if it wasn't a Jack, then Chad Morgan must have been out for an early morning swim.

    Good luck for tonight

I fished Bells a lot when I was living at Golden Beach and Glasshouse.

I didn't get 1 Jack! The creek looks good, but is pretty barren I reckon.

Funchy, try down the end of Roys road near the old wharf/jetty just north of the sand ramp.
There's a deep rocky hole there, they used to load big boats with citrus there years ago.

We found that spot to be the most consistant for Jacks in the passage, especially at night.

I'm not convinced. If I was up at 3am, Gulp! would probably start to look like breakfast.

Shouldn't be long til you're on.

Mate I have caught a fair few jacks in Bells.
Never on larger lures. Drop back a size or two and fish as light as you dare.
My best in there was on a 2" shrimp.
It is one of those places that looks like it is full of fish, but isn't.
It is full of bait though and some sharks too.
Just on dark the place comes alive with bait, you can toss a lure out, rip it back and catch bait it is that thick.
When the tarpon get in there it is great fun, but generally you will only get a fish every thousand casts!
I still go back there whenever I can as it is just a nice place to fish.
