    Default Few Jacks

Been throwing a few plastics around the creeks of Mourilyan Harbour (Innisfail) lately. Been camping on the bank so we can have a arve and morning session but lying in a open swag in the rain and face getting chewed by mozzies and sandflies you question your choice in sport

But we have been going well pulling them out of timber but nothing big. We cant find a barra to save ourselves but out of 3 sessions we got about 50 odd jacks, 20 little GT's, 15 cod and a few grunter.

The main lures used was zman 3" and the thready buster's worked real well.

    Cheers
    Smithy

Using them in the snags or let them flutter down a steep bank works well. They dont get cought up as much as the zmans as I think the head is down and bumps over them.

Yeah it was good to get a few. We camped on Bramstons Beach that night to try out luck with a triple tail or a big salmon but we ended up with this shovel nose and that was it but was still good fun. A quick photo then released. Should mention too we only kept 1 jack for the fire that night all others released.

Geez, 50 jacks, thats good going Smithy!

That big shovelly would have been a bit of a work out too, I imagine.

I reckon the Mossie domes that come with a lightweight fly are the go. Become a big fan of them, ever since a bloody centipede crawled into my swag and bit me one night, while barra fishing over in the NT.
    Cheers,
    Roo.

Some great Jacks there and nice pics.

Do the Thready busters come in a light and heavy version?

Got to love when a Plan comes together

    Regards
