Default Strait rods in the straits..

Hi all. With a nice day forecasted and Pete & i with an RDO, he andy and i headed off down the straits for a quick run. With about two hours before the top of the tide,we ran right up the top of a creek, found some bait, and started fishing plastics.
Pete was first on the board with a nice Grunter on a Bloodworm 2.5" Zman. Andy got a little Trevally then Pete got another Grunter which he kept for dinner.
I got a nice one, then Andy and i had a run of the old "Straight ROD" while pete kept a steady procession of bream and small grunter coming to the boat. After numerous lure changes and a sandwhich, andy finally hooked up,to his biggest Tarpon to date.
The pics dont really do it justice to its thickness. After that we got a few more, pete got wrapped around a tree by a trevally that we had to go in and untangle and a couple more Grunter.
I also got wiped out on the light gear up into the mangroves. All in all a good day out,and a cold beer on the way home...Love days like this on the bay.
Everybody is probably sick of the tarpon jump shots but i got a couple more today..i kinda like em..
Oh..Pete also got his first Diamond on a lure...

    Chewy....

Yea Jeff...it is,they seem more solid fish across the board, fishing right up the top end of creeks, and deep corners of side creeks, that don't get fished much seem to be holding a better class of fish all round. its worth pushing right up to find these fish in my opinion.
