Bit of Christmas red

With all this hot humid weather around a mate and I decided to throw the boat in after work on friday in hope of some red action and hopefully get my mate his first. We put in at around 530pm and we went in search for bait and structure. Our first move was a few rockbars and laydowns while it was still light and we had some form of accuracy. Which paid off within the first 30 minute with me hooking up to a nice little 38ish model.

He had a previous bait rig piercing stuck in the side of his face so I am sure he was glad to have it removed!






We moved on once it got dark to find some more bait and get away from all the bloody midgies. We were greeted by an awesome show on the sounder and it was all fun and games from there.





I threw everything from 5inch grubs 3 inch minnnows into this bait school for only a couple small taps. Decided to throw down my bream rod with a 2.5 inch Grubz on it. Whack ZZZZZZZZZZ dropped Pulled it up to find my hook absolutely hammered and a little scale left on the barb.

Quick rerig and a couple more drifts and WHACK ZZZZZZZZZ this time a solid hook up and he made it all the way to the net!





We persisted with the spot and I pulled one more to finish my night, My mate had a couple awesome hits but unfortunately no solid hook ups
