Default 1st blurt in the tinny

Well, it's been sitting in the shed for the last 10 or so days and this morning was my first ever foray into the world of "motorised" time on the water. First time I have ever grabbed a tiller and had a boat under my own control. Was launching just on 4:45am to a beautiful sunrise. I took it nice and steady and stayed to the areas I know so well fromk the yak. Grin from ear to ear I tells ya The motor started no probs 1st time and 1st pull each time thereafter. No water in the hull so no leaks!!! I am a happy man !!!

Anyway, had a bit of a fish while I was out and about. Scored one nice little soapie for my efforts (about 48cms). Got him on a 5inch crazy legs on a sleeper rod out the back. He went back to grow some more.

Had to head in way too early as a southerly buster came through around 7:30am and rained on my parade

Hope to get out there again real soon.

Nice work mate! Usally people go from petrol to kayaks not the other way around! You will enjoy being a boaty for sure! opens much more fishing time.

Are you still going to use the yak or are you fully converted?

I went from petrol to yak and back to petrol.. Now I have a little skinny water yak too.

That's the happy middle ground I think.. Have both.
