    Default Coupla Bream

    Hey guys,
With all the rain we have received up here in Mackay lately, I thought it would be a prime time to chase a king thready at the mouth of one of the local creeks. We usually get some good ones just after the rain as they hit the mouth to try locate the saltier water and harass the plethora of bait usually found in the same location after such an event.

After a bit of an oversite on my part, my mate dan and I could only fish this location for an hour and a half before the incoming tide forced us to higher terrain and ultimately cut the session short.

No salmon on this particular occasion but I got a couple of nice bream which went 31cm and 34cm. Both of these were caught on a weedless 3 inch prong. Please note that I usually use a far smaller sinker (00) in the loop knot but needed the extra weight to get it out considering the tidal run and gale-force winds.

Despite the abundance of lead weight, the prong still performed well

Sponsorship 101- Never miss a chance for a plug!

Dunno.. not taking away from the product, or anything.. just seems to me a little disclosure comment might be the go.

You certainly don't seem like a disingenuine fella so I know see where I'm coming from... maybe it's just me.

Hey Luke, your right about the kings after the rain. A buddy and me got four from 70 to 100cm at Murray. All on livies. The only problem with fishing after the rain are the small sharks move in aswell. They are fun to catch aswell so it's not too big a hassle.
