    Default Jacks during the wet

The wet has begun according to our local paper. Cruising the creek today I had to agree, with one mate telling me the rain's staying until Thurdsday.

Fish still gotta eat, and these two came out of the local today- but I've typically found that the more fresh, the poorer the action.

Just wondering what people's thoughts are re. land-based estuary options during the wet.
..and no, crab pots don't do it for me!

    Nice fish Alex.
I don't know much about fish'n so can't answer your question.
Wait till February, then fish in the rain under a light. Supposed to be OK for Barra.

I always find the better barra and threadfin salmon get flushed to the river mouths chasing the saltier water and plethora of bait during rain but predominately just after...not that you are allowed to target barra at the moment anyway....only 12 and a half days to go and counting!

Ha ha.. turn it up Graham!
Interesting though.. I'll assume a light means man-made structure so maybe the bridges... (or perhaps that other spot with lights), during an incoming.

At leat the rain will keep the mozzies and sandflies off.

Good point Luke. I picked that up in your previous posts. Definetly worth collecting some liveys and giving it a throw off the beach. Particularly since the rain has only, really, just started up. Cheers.

Failing all that... might be a good time to break out that little D-Shock Spin cheapie and hunt out some freshwater spots!
