    Default First Barra on HB

Firstly, undersized and in closed season.
Couldn't pull hooks in water due to terrain and croc risk.
All care taken and fish released post haste.

But my first Barra on a HB!
Bait has been great for catching muddies lately, so gave it away in favour of something that might elicit an aggression strike from the MJs.

This little fella was a pleasant surprise given the weather, and got me thinking about increasing the arsenal for Feb.

Sad news is the much loved Aird came off badly after a slip down the muddy embankment.

(Tried to do right by law and fish but Dids/Chew please pull post if not appropriate)

Oh she's not too bad up here. Bit blowy and some rain but doesn't sound as bad as South of us at the mo. You're right about copping a hit on a lure though.

Cheers guys- Not an expensive rod but did get a lot of use... maybe a good time to campaign for an upgrade!

Nice fish Alex. Pity about the rod, even if it was a low cost one. Motor is ok, just need the NW to drop now. Might be some speedbumps in the water after the rain too.
