    Default Harries in Moreton Bay

Took an early mark yesterday and with a forecast of variable to 10 knots, Harries seemed like a relaxing way to spend a few hours drifting the reef with a mate.
On the water at 4.30pm. Things were very quiet until this 86 cm Snapper hit the deck about 6.30pm and was very quiet after. Quantity over quality anytime. This is the second time I have put Pete onto an 80+.

Well done Dave! that is a cracker!

I put my neighbour onto an 80cm out there two weekends ago, on a Lime Tiger Gulp too - 5 " jerkshad - that was missing about an inch of tail from pickers.

    Just one good one too.

    Cheers,

    Matt

I usually set up a drift line that will take us close to the pipes that has the least boats anchored around them. We run 2 rods each with 4 different placcies until a pattern is found. 99% of fish are caught on the deadsticks. The last time I got a snap out there while holding the rod was when I was drifting next to old mates berley trail. Needless to say he was not happy particularly when I pulled up the 4th fish in the 60's and all he could manage was throw backs.
Zman 4" curly tails during the day normally do the trick but at night I prefer the gulps with there extra scent.
