    Default lake mac croc

headed out today with no idea what would happen as 3 trips so far had produced a few small flatty and salmon ,tried a small estuary which runs down south ,used squidgies and hard bodies in45mm .trolled around new ground to find any drop offs with a couple of high 400s coming aboard.decided to downsize to 3 kg with 7lb leader as lots of bream were around.and murphies law hit a big croc lizard decided to inhale the tiny 45mm hazo.a few tense moments with deep lunges and runs and finally had the little lady slide the net under her going 850mm a new pb escpecially on such light gear

Good work Al, that's a nice specimen. You will find plenty that size and bigger down there once you crack the code. 120mm Bloodworm Squidgy Wriglers dead sticking out the back is also a good method while your drifting around flicking plackies and hard bodies about.

Sorry we didn't catch up at Glenbawn. For the record we ended up with 36 Yella's and 7 Bass for the 5 days, although we lost a day with Engine trouble. All fish caught on 2" Gulp Grubs. Found plenty of big schools of Bass but they were just shut down, tried a thousand different lures to no avail.

Well done Al.Great to see you getting onto a few. There are some big lizards in the lake. How big are the salmon you are catching? I reckon pound for pound they will out jump a barra and tow a barra all over the place.Unfortunately they don't grow as big.Catch one on 3kg line in the current in Swansea channel and you might agree.
My gall bladder played up again the night before was to leave for sa,but I decided to push as our accomadation was already paid for.Three days of driving without any food and just sipping water. All good now.Catching a few squid, crabs and snapper.
    Cheers, Mick
