    Default Investing in the future..

    DSC_0137.jpg

After taking some time to remember the diggers, i had lined up to take the Bosses son for a fish, as he was keen as mustard, but had little experience throwing plastics. Dawn broke and as the sun poked it head above Fraser island i launched the poly at the Boona ramp, fired up the motor and headed over towards a couple of the island creeks. As mentioned,Terry hadnt thrown a plastic before but could cast quite well, so after a bit of coaching, we started to fish. He took good notice of my tips it seems, as third cast go was onto a nice little flathead. Couple of quick pics and i had one happy lad. A few casts later and he had a slightly bigger one. This plastics fishing was easy he reckons. I caught a couple small grunter so we headed up to another creek to check a couple pots that pete had baited for me the day before. Happy days, 4 nice bucks. We started fishing again, with me getting told i better get my game on to catch up.

A few casts later i felt a tap and the S1 bent over. A few minutes later a little thready hit the net, followed by another of similar length.
We headed down a bit, and Terry threw out a 4" Curl tail in New penny, and soon the rods bent over and the drag was screaming. It was a great fight, with the battle going to and fro, terry pretty much knocked up at the end as a nice creek trevally swam into the net for a few quick pics. this was where it was a pretty good part of my day, as he had never released a fish of legal length. I explained trevs werent that great and he had a good feed of flatties, so it was all smiles as he popped it over the side, and opened the lip grips to release it. High fives all around.

We caught up with pete for a chat then headed towards home. We stopped in at another creek, landing a nice grunter on the 2.5" grubs then i saw what i thought was a thready, lobbed the plastic in front of it, and bang...i was on...unfortunately to a nice black tip shark, which proceeded to leap all over the place. after a lengthy battle we grabbed it for a couple pics, and headed for home. Terry landed a little bonito on the way home, for the last fish of the day.

As we neared the ramp, he offered to wash the boat and motor for me, so i didnt have to do it when i got home. Was bloody good of him i thought. He was plum tuckered out, so i whipped the fillets of the flatties and headed for home, with him thanking me twice for taking him and wanting to know if id take him again. Sometimes its good putting a little bit back in i reckon, and better him out on the water, than sitting on the computer or playstation. Was a great day out and cant wait to do it again.

What a great outing, what a adventure for him.
Good on-ya for taking him out Chewy, catching a few fish and and showing him the ropes, the other side to fishing. He sounds like a good young bloke that appreciates it.

Nice Mr Chew, the future is looking bright. Can't wait to get up there tomorrow, although the forecast for later in the week looks pretty ordinary.

    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers
