Just spent the weekend at a mates shed chasing bread and butter fish.
up at 3.45 am sat morning to get out of Maaroom and through the shallow channels down to Diamond cr while there was still enough water, set the pots for a few sandies on the way.
pumped some yabbies by torch light and mozzie buzz.
went for a bit of a troll waiting for the tide to drop got a few undersize cod.
2 hours before low anchored up for tings going was a bit slow lots of just under bream with the odd just legal Whiting.
on the turn of the run in went for a troll a bit further upstream we caught 4 nice flathead found a nice 14 ft hole with a bit of rock nearby marked it for future reference. Decided to call it a day around 11 back for a nanny nap and a few rums.
Sunday morning got up at 6 am and managed to just get out the channel before the water drianed to far sat on a rubble patch out the front for an hour managed all the normal undersize fish ,snapper, sweetlip ,tusk fish ,but did land a legal one of those.
moved from there to claytons gutter for a ting fish a better start there than the day before we managed 8 nice fish up to 38 cm and 2 flatties . Checked the pots for 4 legal sandies
