Default Dids does the straits...the real version.

So i got this text saying, please warn the fish, im coming to molest them. So having to work saturday morning i got this text(see photo) where a fish had clearly been floating up the creek. Anyway, that was enough so i bailed and headed down. Finally finding the legend via some super texting skills, it was hot so we drifted up the creek having a beer solving some of the worlds issues. I kept suggesting that we have a fish, someone else in the party kept suggesting we have another beer.

Which leads me to what seems to be a recurring theme in this creek. Dids says, " i have only got 2 beers left. Which is what happened last trip also, so being the good bloke i am, and mostly prepared i shouted him a few. Finally we went for a look up red house creek, half a dozen casts, it was still hot, so under the shade for a beer. I pointed out a rod and reel combo up the bank, and finally after 10 minutes of squinting Corporal Van der Bilt spotted it. Clearly wearing is dental technician hat, Dids cast away up the bank at it,getting snagged in the bushes right away, then giving up as failure was a sure thing. We had some snacks, and talk turned to dinner, where i was regaled with dids esky contents of pre prepared meals.
    Unfortunately,they didnt come with cutlery.

Dids with a smile said im going to have a sip of this Bacardi spiced rum....Out of the bottle...You guessed it..No cup either. Luckily scout master chew was prepared and had some plastic cups, and ice, as that was also lacking in HMAS Hislop. Eventually the sun was going down and i reluctantly dragged the boss up for a fish. He cast and cast... and drank, while i sat and watched.

Eventually i picked up a rod, finished a quiet beer, picked out a target, lobbed the little plastic in, and immediately hooked up on a little barra in 300 mm of water. While the decky did his best to knock it off with the net, it was soon landed, and released. Its what i do. I just put the rod back down and had a beer. Dids was busy taking notes and cussing profusely

Soon it was dark, we had dinner, of sorts, then came time to get the camp beds sorted. Mine was up in 4 minutes, while i had to sit and listen to Capt. Hislop tell me about how easy his new cot was to erect.

I even googled it, and it confirmed that it would be ready to sleep in in just seconds. After an hour and ten minutes, having almost lost him over the side, and him having broken a rod, i got in and the tent was up in under 5 minutes.
    Finally it was bedtime.

SUnday dawned, i packed up and headed up red house creek for a quick fish. got a couple grunter, then went and found the boss, who had apparently given an early morning offering to the sea gods, i gave him a life saving iced coffee(cause im a good bloke) and headed up the creek.

Dids went and got his crab pot,was gone a while, and when he came back had a smile on his face. He had run out of fuel. He had brought 5 emergency litres, so put that in, and we headed home after another fine trip. Pretty happy he lives in Brisbane

One thing I did forget to mention is my tee totalling mate that was along for the ride but failed to get in any pictures , so clearly I was not in control of the vessel at any time.
