I fish it all the time, but only during the week, place cops an absolute flogging on weekends and school holidays, you can walk on the crab pots most weekends and plenty of idiots putting them in the channel, and having 30mtrs of rope on their pots when they are only in 2mtrs of water, so look out for this.

I have found it always fishes best on making tide, however have picked up some excellent flathead on the last couple of hours of the run out tide sitting just on the drop off about 20 mtrs from the red beacon at the mouth using ganged white bait or large green prawns, when anchored up the red beacon will be on your left.

If you are going on high tide, stick to the channel which is marked by beacons up to the boat ramp which will appear on your right hand side heading up the creek. I wouldn't go past the boat ramp on your first trip.

If you haven't fished it before make sure when you enter the mouth between the red & green beacons head in a straight line to the next red beacon as there is a good kilometre of oyster encrusted rocks on your right heading up. There is a fair bit of crap in the creek that will be visible to you at low tide, if you stick to the channel navigation is pretty safe.

When leaving the creek as you get down to the mouth, from about half tide out there is a large mud/sand bank starting to come out on your right and a large sand bank with a 10mtr wide strip of weed bed starting to come out on your left, provided the wind is right or you have an electric on your boat drifting down close to either of these you will pick up flathead, whiting, bream, grunter and trevally.

Ningi fishes good if you get to know the creek and fish during the week, couple of good jew holes well up the creek, and some big jacks.

If you boat is no bigger then 5mtrs you will have no issue navigating at a 300mm low provided you stay in the channel and dont go past the boat ramp.
