Default First fish for 6 weeks

Been a bit tied up with life issues and a few other things for the last 6 weeks or so ,and have not been able to get out for a fish .
a mate rang on Wednesday said can we go for a tailor fish at Mud ,I hummed and ahad as I had cleaned the boat as I am trying to sell it but in the end I relented and said yes then realised I had no bait but luckily Morgan’s had some pike .
This morning dawns 3 degrees at home ah bugger better rug up ,so we head off from shorncliffe with my ears freezing despite my beanie the cold was giving me a headache but halfway accross the bay we ran into a warm patch and the Temps rose about 5 degree which was good,
Turned into a nice morning landing 14 Tailor dropping a few others we also go onto some nice trevally let the first few go but decided to keep the rest to see how they go in the smoker, people say there rubbish to eat but I crumbed one for lunch and it was great on the tooth

Not sure what species yours are, but the silver trevs down here go good on the plate as long as you bleed them and eat fresh. Don't freeze very well.
