So, being a while since Pete and i had hit Boona, and or supposed visitors cancelling, Pete lobbed up at my place around 5.30, arriving at the water around 6am. Launched without much incident except my feet are seriously soft after wearing work boots for so long. I tip toed like a princess back down to the boat. Idled out, and the sun wasn't up, with a bit of cloud, but i could follow my last track through "fisherman's gutter".

I was telling Pete, that it was only an extra 5 minutes to run the island when it looked like it was getting shallow. Naa...cant be... there's my track.......Blllloolllbbbaaaaa. Yep it was shallow. I blame the lack of sun, that's my story and im sticking to it. Also, i had forgotten on my last trip i cut across the sand as it was nearly high tide. Anyway. With a bit of SWD and a few minutes we were on our way again. I had the camera going half the day, but really it was more a trip about just talking crap and catching a few fish.

The morning highs atm aren't a very big tide, so the ru was manageable and we could fish right through the tide. You wouldn't say it was red hot, but wasn't quiet either, with some trevally, grunter, pike, bream, flathead and cod hitting the poly. Highlight of the trip was the top photo. I have taken plenty of pics of Pete, but this is my fave.

Called in on the way home at a potential camp site to find a lot of rubbish and broken bottles, so its back to camping in the boat. Anyway it was a glamour day out, with plenty of laughs, BS and a few fish. Didn't call into the Golf Club on the way home for a beer. Most of the fish were caught on small plastics, Midnight Oil SLim Swimz and Grubz. Fish seemed to be feeding on small herring and hardyhead schools of which there were plenty.
