    Default Here squiddy, squiddy, squid

Can't believe I have lived in the area for 18yrs and haven't had a crack at fishing for squid in TCB. With current cracking weather and very poor attitude towards work, today was the day. Launched after lunch in the small boat and tried a few spots that were suggested. All failed (or I did). Went to where I thought might work and started pinning a couple. Ended up with four arrows and a tiger before I chased a feed of flatties near bottom of tide. Nothing special in size of squid or number but happy for my first crack plus flatty tails for dinner. Cracking sunset behind a bushfire to top it off.

And that’s living mate. I’ll be down there next weekend for another look. It’s a good looking place.

Normally only ever chased them when anchored up in a big boat overnight. Or sometimes if one follows a bait up. Use to chase them a bit in Lake Macquarie when I lived there, but never here. Was good to try something different (like not working 14 hr + days!!).

My mate usually gets a lot of arrows at TCB in one spot. Can't tell you where or I won't be his mate anymore. Have been trying to educate him re getting tigers at Inskip but I don't think he has perfected it yet.
