Default Pancake ck

My oldest daughter wanted to do an adventure type camping trip of either fishing or hunting. Decided on Pancake Ck. 3.5hr drive on the tar, 40min drive on dirt tracks, launch tinnie full of camping gear, then a 12nm run through a mangrove creek maze to come out into Pancake Ck. Pancake has one of the few coral reefs inside an estuary so is a special place. Being only accessible by boat is even better. Four days of crabbing, fishing, camping, swimming, exploring and generally spending time with my daughter ensued. Even though fishing was casual to say the least, we managed to pin 19 cod, 10 flatties to 75cm and a mix of other bread and butter species. Very pretty spot and some great sunsets. The wind was up when the tides were high enough to float the tinnie so no fishing out the front of the creek.IMG_20200923_072522022.jpgIMG_20200925_143403277.jpgIMG_20200925_092349400_HDR.jpgIMG_20200925_071851675.jpgIMG_20200924_181351557.jpgIMG_20200924_175016325.jpgIMG_20200924_173048515.jpgIMG_20200923_072522022.jpgIMG_20200925_143403277.jpgIMG_20200925_092349400_HDR.jpgIMG_20200925_071851675.jpgIMG_20200924_181351557.jpgIMG_20200924_175016325.jpgIMG_20200924_173048515.jpg

Now, I'm not saying we should invoke capital punishment for Stupidity, but how about we just take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself out?

Way to go. Looks great.
I've heard it's a special place, and would love to check it out, but where do leave your car for 4 days?

Thank you. Great spot with coral reefs in crystal clear water. Plenty of wild life (sharks, eagles, turtles, sea slugs, land animals, etc. We left the car at Middle Ck camp grounds. There were a few groups camping there. Was still there when we got back, so happy days. There is a track into a spot halfway through the narrows that you can launch your boat on half tide up. Speaking to a bloke there and that is where he launches from. Leaves his car there for a week at a time without issue.

Thanks Chewy. Wasnt too bad. Bit corrugated and tight in spots but 2wd all the way for us. Have been in after a wet and it is a bit more interesting, but not too bad. Would be working hard on the wheel to get my bigger boat in but the tinnie wasnt a problem. Keen to go back at some time on a bit more fishing focused trip.
