    Saph, you'll need a boat.

was wondering on how far down they go, not a luderic person more so not one who can go shoulder to shoulder with 20 people just for a chance at a fish.

Come winter time they are easy to find all through the passage, even got one on an SP last year flicking for flatties. February though is a different issue, they can be found but few and far between. Could be a change of food, have had them on when using yabbies in the off season.

Thanks Ron. Be an interesting exercise to target them. Have you chased squid in the Passage?

I see plenty of them when I wade the mangroves....mid summer as well.
I always thought they left the estuaries in summer.

Military Jetty at Golden Beach is a spot that is overlooked and there are big schools under there.

Peter, they are up here in the weed beds nth of the power boat club normally BUT they don't like dirty water and the Passage is very dark tanin coloured so I imagine they would have moved out. Maybe it clears early further south.

Yes it would be something different, I have never chased squid before anywhere, have caught them over the years as a bycatch, I see them when the water is clear when drifting out front of Sandstone Pt for whiting.
