Default Bait fishing for jacks…. Yes it’s me.

Yes it’s true. With the recent and predictions of more rain, anyone that can offer any insight into bait fishing for jacks I would appreciate. I have caught one, maybe two on bait, 25 years ago. I’ll be looking at the lower end of the straights, tin can etc. loose plan is to push up onto the skinny creeks half tide up, small ball sinker, big gun 3/0. Half Pilly. That’s how Keith Stratford Gets em up this way. He regularly gets half a dozen a session. Any other advice on tide, wind, whatever greatly appreciated.

In the Burrum over the years it’s been out going tide on a rocky section either live or dead smallish mullet or butterflied mullet dropped back into rocks

Mate at Tin Can gets them on bait, mainly 400-600 specimens. I have been threatened with a slow and painful death if I tell anyone where. Haha.

Now, I'm not saying we should invoke capital punishment for Stupidity, but how about we just take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself out?

Lve herring, live poddy or sometimes strips. I use a long trace snelled 6/0 with 4/0 also. Run up or run down depending on the spot. Wait. Then wait some more. Then sh&t yourself when they smash.

There's a guy who chases them in Pumicestone Passage near the boardwalk in a tinnie with his trusty cattle dog, he uses live gar to chase them. He always gets 1 or 2 in the half hour that I've watched him.
