Default Tsunami in the Pumicestone Passage?

Went with a mate flicking for flatties this morning, to say it was quiet is an understatement, the fish had just no interest and we tried every lure and covered quite a bit of territory. The best we got was 2 half hearted hits but no hook up, I did manage one fish around 150mm though.

The weirdest thing is that we were fishing along the inside of Bribie, about 3km south of the new bar. There wasn't a boat in sight even a jetski and we had clear vision probably 1.5 km both north and south of our position. Water was calm, a light NE blowing. All of a sudden we were being rocked by what felt and looked like boat wash except no white water, but nothing had passed us for at least 20 mins. About 10 mins later a jet ski did come through but as he was in the channel about 100m away the wash from him was barely a ripple by the time it got to us.
This effect was only noticeable due to the lack of boats on the water.
Anyone like to throw some theories out there.
PS: have yet to hit the sauce bottle today

We've had the same happen in moreton bay on occasions. Out of nowhere comes a set of 4 or 5 swells much like the wash of a ship with none in sight. Then back to normal.
    Tide change... somewhere?
And yes... I'm 6 throwdowns in. Ha!

Definitely swells Saph, plenty aware of the debris, saw pandanus palms down as far as Egg Island, didn't go past there so could be further.

In the bay I'd understand, in the Passage though a fair way down from the bar though is odd.

And your comment you are 6 throwdowns in only showed when I did a reply, doesn't show in the main post.

    2nd edit, just showed up.

The new bar could almost be deep enough soon for one of those.

Even in the bay down south of tangas, a single event from the north in a days fishing is still a mystery to me.
I've no idea but would be interested to know why.

    Cheers

The sea is certainly a mysterious mistress.
