Default Out and About With Meg

So its been a busy sort of few months for the ChewCrew, but i wanted to do one last camp before ot warms up and the bugs got too bad.
I decided to pack Meg in, as we haven't been out of the yard much. Quick pack up and into the boat with a bit of food and the pop up tent.

Arrived and threw a bit of stuff out on the bank, and Meg and i headed off for a fish. Got a couple just legal grunter and dropped a diamond trev straight up. Then got a nice whiting on a Zman grubz. Headed back toward camp and pumped some yabbies.

A bit of a heads up to anyone wanting to fish the straights, since the floods the yabby banks still have a lot of silt on them, and as soon as the tides get a bit of size about them, the water stirs up to where its pretty hard to lure fish. The upside of this, is that it has been by far the best summer whiting season in ages. You can pretty much get your bag of 30 anytime of the day, if you desire. I have been pulling up and getting 12-15 good fish in half hour and that's plenty for jode and i. Also been stacks of flatties about. Anyways, i got a few whiting, then a nice flatty grabbed the yabby.

After significant Meg issues, the fish was netted, and in the end so was Meg. I have since sorted out her restraints on the boat so she cant jump in the water, or onto me. We headed back to camp, and in the 20 minutes i was there, got eaten alive, even with the Thermacell going. They were eating Meg ferociously, even after she dug herself a hole in the sand, but then she worked out they couldnt get her in the water, so just waded in till her head was sticking out. Five mire minutes of getting bitten was enough so i quickly packed up and headed home on the high tide. Was still a great day out, albeit not what i planned.

I am going to try making a few more videos now i have a drone, so stay tuned, and ill post them here.

Great video Chewy, I think you’ll have to get Meg her own rod mate.
