We certainly get some STOMPERS down here Troy, and although mainland systems also get bigguns, ours seem to be more concentrated and more consistent.....

I have caught fish around the 45 to fork mark and up to 2.2kg - but that was in the baito days I only got into lures and SP's this year so hopefully it won't be long before I crack the magical 40 mark

Thought this shot might get you drooling. I landed two fish out of this spot of 40 and 41 to the fork before I got broken by a third. Fair guess most of the fish are 40CM or better. Pretty close to shore as well as you can see.

Is it common to see such fish aggregating in one spot around Tassie as per the shot you have provided.

I could see a nice little fly shot landing there - lol.

    Cheers

A sight that certainly gets the casting arm twitchy. Would have been a tough spot to get a cast into or a fish out of on the fly.

I have found them a little hard to get onto when bunched up in the shallows. Found some placcies that seemd to turn em on a bit last year.
