The hype around town has been the visiting salmon. From beyond Mandurah all the way north to Mindarie, fisho’s have been getting into the Arripis truttaceus.
For the land based mob, the Cut, Woodman Point and the Freo moles have all produced the goods. If you can get out off the land, both Rottnest and Garden Island’s have schools cruising past and resting in the bays and reefy areas. In the mornings bonito have surprised many anglers when trolling or casting minnows and slices for salmon. As the salmon have come through so have the sharks that prey on the injured southerners. With the number of sharks and mulloway landed of the beaches it is time to flex some muscle with the larger gear. The mulloway have been hanging around the Freo moles when the rain has flushed the swan. If you want to get that dream metro land based pinkie, fish the storms when they have come close in to feed on the stirred and dislodged food source. The rain has started to push the black bream down from up river. Belmont and Burswood have been top spots. Offshore the FAD’s are going off with bull dollies
