    Default Canning slow going...

Luring on the Canning flats has been a bit more hard work lately. The bream have only ventured from the deeper pockets for a feed for short periods of time at dusk and dawn. Also i think high tide might prove the goods. Hardbodies have got me no sniffs but camo sandworms rigged with a stinger are proving the most successful tactic. Winter has dampened the quantity of bream from my local hood but quality with a blue nose should poke its nose my way soon…..fingers crossed.

Nice one, still producing the goods I see. That stinger rig is different, might be something to try for short takers. I tend to just use sandworms on a standard jighead myself.

    Good one Pete....

Have you caught many Bream on the stinger hook?

Would be good to try on those times when you get 'dacked' I suppose, although as Col said, I've had no drama's with a standard jighead for worm patterns for Bream as they seem to mostly take the head.

That's certainly not been my experience with the worms Beevor. I started using the Gama g-lock stinger on worms for just that reason. Lost count how many tails I'd lost off worms before then. These days I use a Gama drop shot hook as the finer hook sets and holds much better.

Hey guys, deepends what area i am fishing wether i use a stinger or not. If I am loosing my tails or feeling 'takes' without hookups the stinger comes out to play.

I generally don't use a whole worm either, which might help my cause.....

I also try half worms, different situations call for different tactics....
