Tagged fish

[Mad Mullet]

After years of trying, I finally caught my first tagged saltwater fish yesterday.
The weather turned sour so I instead of launching at Burnett Heads Marina, I put in at Strathdees on the Burnett River and fished up around Kirby's Wall.
Trolling hardbodies and tossing Prawnstar Juniors produced a chunky flathead and a stack of estuary cod, including the tagged fish.
It was only a small estuary cod of 38 cm but still a first for me.
Turns out it was tagged by people that I know and it had been in the same stretch of river for about 9 months and grown around 7cm.
I put him back to do a bit more growing.

As a P.S.
Has anybody else landed many tagged fish.
It has always amazed me that after all the fish I've caught over the years, I'd never got one in saltwater before?
Would love to hear how others have fared.
