    Default Paddle power

I hadn’t taken the Mini-X out for a while and with clear blue skies forecast for the middle of the day I thought it was about time I did. The local council had decided to erect pylons where I usually launch my yak so I had to move and find another spot to be able to get in the water, thanks City of Canning!

After launching I cast a few exploratory casts for flatty’s but none were about and weed kept fouling my Ecogear sx40. The tide was low and the surface still so I headed of the flats to find some deeper water. The trusty Gulp sandworm on a 1/16 TT Lures jighead soon found its mark and started to sting the Canning Black Bream. With the water skiers zipping about I had to move further since the Blackies went into hiding after a short while. Out of the way of the noisy stink boats in a shady spot I pulled a nice bream and then blowie after blowie. A few nice fish boated, a mullet destined to become future mulla bait and I was happy and paddling home. Nice day for it.

Sounds like you had a ball Pete. Do you ever catch pinkie/snapper at that location?

Nice shots and fish mate - Between the casting and the paddling you must get saw arms..you should put on a Minn Kota.

A mulla from the yak. That would make a nice pic.
Looks like it was a good day anyway.
Pity about all them dam blowies but. Going to try a little further up the Swan River one night this week and see what happens.
    Cheers Danny.

Love the Yak Pete... maximum stealth and comfort by the looks.

Keep hitting up those Bream mate. And yes make sure you get someone to tape you in the Yak fighting that Mulla... I want to see that!

    Cheers

I do want to get a Mulla from the yak, I just gotta get some balls to be out in the middle of the river when the sun sets

Pat, I launched this time In Rossmoyne... There are plenty spots to park and get your yak in the water, just it's further for me to trolly my yak now.

Two Utes, no pinkies where i fish..... I wish there were!
