    Beevor - Dead set top report mate just loved it. That's a funny way of recording your measurements for the comp.

    Thanks guys!

    Virty.... Trout don't fare too well in a livewell situation, and dont respond well to a lot of man-handling. Just not as hardy as the old Bream. Do you do anything different when it comes to C & R?

    All our measurements were written onto a sheet with ;

    Angler
    Time
    Lure
    Measurement

    Then handed in at the 'weigh in' with our memory cards. Seemed to work ok, apart from the odd technical issue (some cards weren't compatible with the computer, therefore a cable was reuired).

    Hey Beevor when handling native fish you have a bit of time for them to be out of the water but not a lot, just enough time to get a pic or two and get the hook out and back in the water. If you leave cod out of the water to long they lose there slime and you could damage the fish.

    With the way you had to record your measurement's i hope every one had the same mat's and you all did it the same way. Those mat's can be out from 1cm to 3cm it can depended on how long they have been rolled up for and if they have been stretched tight before the fish has been measured.

    At the Timberlake comp i made up frame's for the Truth mat's we used and they where pulled tight and screwed to the frame and measured with a tape measure to get the right measurement. There was a few guy's there with those brag mat's and they just layed them out to get a quick measurement and they where out all the time. I had a tape measure to check the mat after each measurement made.

    It was a good idea to take a pic of each fish.

    Same with Trout

    Interesting about the mats. All the mats we used were provided by the organiser, and all should have been rolled up for the same preiod of time (They were the same ones used as last comp). It all adds up...

    I suppose it is a comp where 'size does matter' though hey!
