Pulled this Thready the other day on a hopped Jackall Tranzam 95. Was definitely worth the 4 hours of casting casting casting for nothing. Then BAM!

First run was a cracker on 20lb braid 60lb leader. Took around 15mins to get to the boat and without a net the comfort lift was used. Actually I lied, we had a net although it was tossed to the side when we saw this beast rise form the bottom. Would have been lucky to fit its head in it.

Every few pumps I got on him form down deep it would scream to the bottom. Lots of pull in these fish.

The gob and lure, waaaaaaay down.

    Hi Troy,

Awesome fish and pic. I bet it gave you a run for your money. Keep up the good fishing.
I've never caught one of them before.

Trust me, you'll want to catch them again and again when you can get them over a meter .

I was doing the same thing the whole time, belting the same area is the key providing you know where they are.

Mainly open water drop offs with a sandy bottom and some tidal flow. But you cant let them run too far because the bridge says so.

    Cheers guys, Troy

    Well done Troy,

You have done well to still be catching them as i heard the threadies are starting to slow down on the river. Could be from the heavier pressure from everyone targeting them too. Do you release the slamon or take home? What outfit are you using to taget the fish?

Geez they fight hard too and those transams are a great lure. Have you bumbed into ant jewies yet on the brissie?

    Cheers
