    Default Never Break a Promise

I promised a mates 7 yr old almost a year ago to take him fishing different things happened , bad weather no time family commitments ,he was busy on weekends with sport ect then the other day I ran into my mate and he said the young fella asked when was I gunna take him fishing. It had been a year since I promised him.woops I said so that night I rang the young fella up It's on tomorrow we'll go fishing told him I would pick him up at 7, well wouldn't you know woke the next morning 30 knots of southerly and raining. so here goes the phone call sorry mate we can't go today the weathers to bad again he just said alright then. felt terrible so Isaid we will try again tomorrow.Woke up next morning Australia Day raining but no wind made the call be there in 15mins when I got there here he was standing on the front lawn ready to go.So off we went got to the never fail spot before I could put the electric motor in the water he had the rod and started casting. After an 1hr at the never fail spot guess what it failed first time ever I haven't pulled a fish out of there so we moved to another spot there 2mins the young fella says my rods stuck I looked around to see his rod tip bouncing up and down I said mate you have a fish on, He said you take the rod I don't wan't to lose it no I said you can do it, so after a few anxious moments a nice flathead was in the boat.a few hi 5s a pat on the back. Then his says I don't want to fish any more can we go for a boat ride alright I said .So a quick phone call to my mate who lives on the other side of the lake told him to meet me down the wharf. so off we went for a boat ride just happend to be to our Bream spot while my mate and i cast lures towards the bank the young fella was casting out the back of the boat next thing he said my rods stuck my mate said he's got a bloody fish on another nice flathead hits the deck thats the young fella 2 my mate and i zip. Next thing we know he's telling us were using the wrong lures, were to cast, started giving us heaps I said to keep that up and you will be swimming home.We fished for about 1/2hr more for nothing else .So my mate and I the so called experts limped home with our tails between our legs done up by a 7yr old. His dad told me today he is still spruiking he beat the experts.

Thats right Two Utes I reckon fishing and surfing should be made standard subjects at school for kids.If they learn to do both of these, they would have no time to be bored and less chance of getting into trouble. I hear it all the time here were I live the kids saying there is nothing to do here .I often say to these kids do you fish do you surf all you get is nah thats gay.If you live by the ocean there is always something to do.
