Great post- but will be checking dates as a matter of course in future.
Don't worry Alex, you can share your spots with me (but don't expect any in return as I don't have any).
All these other blokes are just jealous of the fantastic wild windy weather up here. In the last 6 days, even fishing from the bank would be a problem, either your lure would hit you in the face on the way back or land in the mangroves on the other side of the inlet. LOL

Thanks for the comments lads, Pistol Pete I think there's a touch of truth in what you say about it putting the mocker on me , I haven't had a great session since, but that may change tonight. As for The Gecko, this post won me an Egrell rod in the days when there was a prize for "the post of the month". It was a Bear S10H, as most will know a very very nice rod (no not for sale). But Gecko the rod I broke was not that one, it was an egrell baitcaster I bought, sadly an equally great rod. It was broken on a XXL GT up the noosa River just past John's Landing (High sticking). Pistol P there is a link to this post on the mangrovejack post in the "Fish ID" section. If anybody else wants to do some how to's on other species, feel free.

Great idea on the How To's, Dids. Id love to see one on Threadys, or Estuary Barras. Maybe it could go in the Fish ID section?

Nice to see youve still got the egrell. I'll take you down Urangan pier one day where the little GTs are 100cm.

    I echo that gnarly notion...
Threadys particularly, if anyone wants to submit a report for ...*ahem* 'pier' review!

Err.. but no, dropped one the other day and would love to get the gen on this species.

A write up would be fantastic.
    Alex.
