Cool escapism and day light savings

With the nice warm weather and day light saving I have been making the odd 2-minute walk down to the river for a bream spin. It’s always a pleasure getting wet to the waist and wading the Canning River flats. Work has been busy so the escapism that the water gives me is a meditative state that refreshes me for the next day.

Others may dislike the change of routine that daylight savings brings but for me it is all good. I get home from work, cook dinner, watch the news, have a rest then still have plenty daylight and twilight to have a fish sesh.

Two lures that have been doing the damage are the sx40f in high gloss and the new Khamsin Jr SR rattlers…..

I’ve also managed to get out on dusk with da-houghsta. We jigged vx35’s and I got blacks and Ben got bartails.

Summer is a good time eh?!

Incredible photos Peter. Some real crackers in that lot.

The close up on the eye is my fave!

Yep! Day Light Savings works for me as well.
You've done a great job capturing the vibrant colors in those lures Pete. And not to mention your fine catch....What great Therapy

Excellent work Pete, some top shots there mate.

What sort of knot are you using to tie on your lure???

I use a perfection loop, but your knot looks like it has several wraps involved and is a lot bulkier than the perfection loop.

    Cheers Jeff.

I am not sure what the loop knot is called, it involves 3 double wraps. lol... I think I must not have been concentrating with that loop knot on the sx40f.....It does look big in them photos, but normaly is way way smaller.

Hey Pete, It's great to hear someone say somthing positive about day light savings as I only ever hear people complain about it....

Thanks for the report & a BIG thanks for that spectacular photography! As usual it's unreal!! I hope you are offering that to magazines!! Besides being a great angler by the looks you have a pretty special talent when it comes to your photography...

I tell you what also, those lures that your using are nice looking lures aren't they! I know if I was a fish I'd eat them too

Good to see you getting out & amongst the fish...Oh & I have a feeling that fish in the 9th photo down is looking at me
No excuse - Just get out there and live it !!

Thankyou for the kind comments everyone.

Talina, I do want to step up my photographic skills and do some training. I have studied art, graphic Design and Design for Industry in the past and love composition and captured moments of time. I also hope to get a sweet DSLR after my wedding next year
