    Default Tassie Bream Claasic Rd3

Well another round and a Tassie Bream calendar done and dusted....!

Round 3 of the Tassie Bream Classics was held over the weekend on the picturesque Scamander River on the East Coast. I've had a ball fishing the comps again this year, and looking forward to the announcement of venues and dates for next year - Allowing me to budget holidays and coin-age..... and brownie points!

Our Scammy round didn't quite go to plan, but very very happy with the results considering the amount of small and shut-down fish. The only legals we caught on pre-fish came to pink grubs fished on the surface up river, so we stuck to that plan for day 1, but we also had a plan to have a quick flick down the bottom first. Benny was stoked to land a 30cm first cast while the conga line of boats were crusing past After persisting in that spot for about 20 mins we headed up river for our pink grubbin' plan. The LOOOOOONG journey took about 40 mins each way and wasted a lot of fishing time. We caught about 8-10 fish up there with only 1 measuring 25.5cm Oh well it was better than nothing! We managed a couple more legals on plastics late in the day fishing a muddy/sandy drop-off. I busted off a nice fish that would have been our bag

Day 2 saw us pull up on 'first cast' shore to have a flick around. Things were very quiet, so we devised a new plan. We ended up trying some blades in the middle of the river upstream of Green Island. Soon into the session Benny scored a 29cm on the drop, so we persisted. Scored our bag and managed to upgrade a few times with a couple coming late. Once again, stoked to do well on a day that saw many gun anglers unable to find those slightly bigger fish...... Luck of the draw I say!

Big pat on the back to Benny for letting me be a part of Team Daiwa, and carrying our team to the level of consistency that we acheieved! (6th place, 5th place, and 6th place..... Not sure of overall placing yet but it would be similar). Had a blast old mate, and loved your creative songwriting, your company and loved your sledging (mostly)

Massive thanks to Neil, Nicole and 'Effy for their efforts in putting this tournament together and keeping it together. A lot of hard work in your own time must go into the organisation, and we all appreciate it! Thanks to Riverside Quality Meats for riggin' up those snags and burgers, and Daxy for chipping in with the Salads etc. - Certainly helped to soak up some grog and tasted almost as good as mum's

Finally, well done to Andrew and Dave for keeping their cool and smashing their backs in during the Scammy round, and just missing out on the overall win. You fellas will love those Howler Rods!! Brilliant angling from Pat and Addict to take out the win overall, only just scraped through with a late fish yesterday, but well deserved considering your level of skill and consistency throughout the tournament (and previous!).

    Over and out,
    Beevor
