There's usually plenty of Flathead along that bank and today was no exception, I guess they had other things on their mind instead of eating

Haven't been in Kinchant for a few weeks now, spent a bit of time sight casting to cruising Catties. Had a huge bow wave appear behind a Tango Dancer in the shallows but didn't get the eat Last weekend we overnighted up at Eungella Dam chasing Sooties. Most fell to spinnerbaits with a couple taken on fly.

    That's a ripper Barra on 10lb

Could be prawnlings. We used to get a huge amount of them in the Swan River at times. So many you could scoop a thousand or more in a single scoop. They'd slowly thin out and get bigger, then they'd disappear. I thought about using them as fish food (used to keep cichlids) but figured it probably wasn't worth wasting so many juvenile prawns.

Jelly prawns Isaac, not krill. Samller prawn species, and also juveniles of larger prawns. Often congregate near shore when waters cool, coinciding with new moon tides and calm weather.

Top tucker, for us and fish alike. Everything eats them. Wouldn't be surprised if bigger stuff doesn't arrive to commence chowing down. Goldies, salmon, queenies, barra, tarpon, permit, GH...... everything loves a feed of jellies.
    Ultralight RULES!!
