    Default beers, blues and choppers

Last Friday evening Loren and me jumped onto Loren’s Dads catamaran September Song. We were not setting sail that night, but just chilling out in the strangely dead calm conditions and having a beer or three. The plan was to just drop a net of each of the corners of the Cat and see if we could get a feed of blue manna’s for lunch the next day. A couple of hours later and after a dozen undersize crabs we left with 3 nice ones in the bag. The next day my mum came over and I cooked up a delicious sweet chilly stir-fry, nice!!

While sitting on the September Song I jigged a blade with my right hand and drank beer with my left. I ended up catching and releasing about half a dozen tinny choppers and dropped a squid (which would have gone nicely in the stir-fry).

I'm hopping my next fish will be a bit bigger

Nice stuff Pete! I love the double-handed aproach...beer in one hand, rod in the other!

I bet the crabs went down a treat too!

Is that a Cyber Vibe your using there? What do you think of them?

    Cheers mate!

Yep, they are ok but vx35's are way better in my opinion. Tighter action, better fish profile, better build and quality paint and finishing.

Hmm, beer in one hand, fishing rod in the other.
You've got the right idea Pete.

And I definately agree with you Try Hard, $20 on a sinking lure that I'll lose first cast is a bit much for me too.

    Cheers Nath

They can snag-up in unfriendly territory, especialy where there is alot of line from other fishos snaggin' up. Canning Bridge has a web of line between/around/under the pylons. You can have a killer sesh there sometimes, other times you might as well just empty your tackle box of blades into the water.

Unfortunately if you want to pull the bream you got to drop the blades where they are holding and that is where there is structure to ping you on.

It can get expensive and I guess that is why I have only $5 in my wallet and why I have not been jiggin' as regularly.
