    Default Threadies

With the crappy weather of late, I'm thinking of trying the Brisbane river for one of these Thread fin salmon. I've never caught one and know nothing about them. Can any one fill me in with a few pointers eg. Tides, times, seasons, lures, structure, trolling ect.???????????????

    Cheers Dids

hey didley, I've been fishing for these threadies in the brissy river 2 times, and I've i know that they can attack soft plastics maybe try the 3" prawn and have heard they attack lures/ HB but not quite Shaw what once, at luggage point, you can get some mullet, herring and my uncle got his one on a live tailor. bottom feeders most off the time, and at dusk can feed on small fish. just a secrets on where people catch them is further down from luggage point on the poles sticking up on pole 96-98 just float over the poles with your sounder you should pick them up. good luck mate they are out there it is just trying and trying like my uncle did and he got his 120cm.

    re. bycatch???

Come on mate, head down the docks and soak a livie, throw out a mask vibe,
    you know the drill.
    Berkeley prawns are a winner.

Wish I was closer to the Bris river, that's for sure.

    Cheers, Jeff.

Normal Barra lures mate. They've always been a winner. Work them up in the snags just as it starts running in. Can't go wrong.

Here at River Heads, Hervey Bay... I found the Squidge pro slick rig 130mm "stunned" work well for Threadies, but its a bit late in the season for them now... until next Summer. Give them a go in the brissie river.
