    Yeah the black ones definitely look meaner then the chrome ones. I wonder what decides their colour? Surroundings or genetics? I'd think genetics.

    One thing is for sure. Next time I'm taking the Sustain 8000 and T Curve 10-15kg Bluewater Spin. Load that up with 50lb braid, 60lb leader and might even up size to an 8/0 hook for once.

    I'm a bit edgey on the heavier tackle but. I think they are a lot finickier in the rivers then the reefs. Swimming for them might be the only way. Although I think it would be awesome to put 7 or 8kg of pressure on a fish like that in a shallow estuary.

    Im still in awe of two swim in the canals in the dark. Your a brave man troy.Top catch and well done.

    at least your only worried about sharks. weve had croc sightings up here, so Im not diving in for any fish.

    Amazing, fish of a lifetime twice.

    According to Damon Olsen (yesmad charters) they go black when they're in breeding mode. He should have a bit of an idea I guess, but, who knows???
